The need for an in-person event for our industry where participants can meet and learn about innovative products, services and operators ever evolving requirements has never been more important than it is right now.
Joseph Priestly the chemist and philosopher famous for inventing carbonated water and his writings on electricity is credited with saying, “the more elaborate our means of communication, the less we communicate”.
Since March many of us have had to rely on a myriad of communication services such as ZOOM and TEAMS to stay in touch and although very useful, they are no substitute for meeting in person. ENERGYx2020 is the only event this year to be going ahead safely in person and is a great way to get back to business.
We have introduced enhanced safety measures at ENERGYx2020 so you can meet customers, suppliers, colleagues, influencers, experts, and business associates in a safe and secure environment.
These enhanced safety measures are based on key cornerstones to provide you with assurance and confidence the events will run in a safe environment:
- Cleaning & Hygiene
- Physical Distancing
- Protection & Detection
With safety, sanitary and social-distancing measures in place we continue to liaise with the Government, Chester Racecourse and the Association of Event Organisers, who have the most up-to-date information regarding the prevention and spread of COVID-19 and will follow all guidance set out by them.
We have raised our already high standards of hygiene and developed new health and safety protocols to meet the challenges presented by COVID-19. The health and safety of our staff, exhibitors and visitors is of paramount importance and will not be compromised.
You can visit our event with complete peace of mind.
Cleaning & Hygiene
Ventilation – Increased and improved fresh air circulation in line with latest CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) guidance and recommendations.
Disinfection Fogging – Overnight the exhibition area will be Fogged which is the process of generating an airborne mist of disinfection micro-droplets that diffuse throughout the show hall and treat every surface.
Enhanced Cleaning – The Cleaning Team have been trained to deliver new cleaning procedures ensuring all touch points and seating areas are regularly wiped with chlorine-based cleaning fluid.
Bathrooms – All bathrooms will be checked and maintained by a dedicated team of cleaners and will manage queuing to use the facilities.
Hand Sanitiser – Dispensers will be provided throughout the venue concourses, hall entrances and other high traffic areas.
Hand Washing – Reminders to regularly wash hands, not exchange business cards and refrain from personal greetings (a handshake or a hug) will be in place.
Food & Beverage – Food preparation areas will be regularly inspected, and menus have been reviewed so no open products will be served.
Entrance – With a distinct entrance to the venue, we can manage arrivals safely, taking into account the latest government guidance.
Queuing – Any areas where queuing is required will be managed with signage and floor markings.
Minimise Queuing – All attendees will need to pre-register to attend.
Badges – Where possible please print your badge at home to reduce need for queuing.
Service Area – A large area will be used for visitor processing and induction to avoid queues.
One-Way System – Relevant markers and one-way systems will be installed in public areas, incl. the central walkway, circulation and networking spaces outside conference rooms, toilets, lifts, and cloakrooms, to keep everyone a safe distance.
Seating – Public seating will be adequately spaced to ensure social distancing.
Aisles – We have created wider aisles to ensure everyone can maintain social distancing.
Crowd Density Standards – To ensure appropriate physical distancing we will control the number of people always present in the event halls, in accordance with official guidance.
Maximum Seminar Capacity – Seminar areas will allow for social distancing, with 1.5 metres between chairs. This means there will be limited capacity, so please arrive on time. Some chairs may be marked as unavailable. Please respect this instruction and do not move the chairs.
Detection & Protection
Declaration – All attendees will make a self-declaration to follow safety measures we are implementing and refrain from attending if they have a high temperature or other symptoms related to COVID-19.
Face Masks – Face coverings are compulsory and a condition of entry unless you have a medical exemption – guests will not be allowed to enter the venue unless they are wearing a face covering subject to government guidelines on the day.
In the many areas where food and beverages are being served there is no requirement to wear a face mask.
With NET ZERO in mind our original aim was to encourage everybody attending the event to leave the car at home, however this policy has been superseded by the travel guidelines from the government which are encouraging people to use private cars at this time.
We are in liaison with the local authorities to ensure we have adequate travel services which will include:
Bus – Chester has an approved service to ensure social distancing when traveling to the Racecourse.
FREE Parking – Chester Racecourse has 600 free visitor parking spaces.
Walking – Chester Racecourse is a short 10 min walk from Chester Mainline Station.
PLEASE STAY AT HOME IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL
Finally, as much as we want to see you join us, we kindly ask you to respect everyone’s health and safety. If you feel at all ill – including mild cold symptoms or a high temperature – please stay at home.
